I’m not sure how to fill out the referral form, what should I do?
Please email info@nessieined.com and a member of the team will answer any questions and help you complete the referral process.
What happens once I’ve sent my referral in?
You will receive an acknowledgment within 72 hours. Once your referral is accepted, a therapist will be allocated as soon as practical, schedules allowing. You and the therapist will agree the date time and location of the sessions via email.
Where will my child be seen?
Usually, children are seen in their school. In some cases, other community venues are used. This will depend on the therapist and when they work.
Can I choose what day/time the therapist meets my child?
Our therapists have very packed schedules and it is not always possible to hold sessions on your day/time of choice. We will endeavour to do so, where possible.
How soon can sessions start?
The start date for the sessions will be dependent on a number of factors, including availability of therapist and location. If there is a waiting list at the time, we will also let you know.
How much does it cost?
Our fully qualified and experienced therapists are £60 per session. We have other mental health practitioners (including ASC/LD specialists) and they are £52 per session. We also have trainees on placement who are £25 per session with limited availability.
How do I pay?
Payment must be made at least 24 hours in advance of a session. You will receive an invoice to remind you and you can pay by PayPal through our website.
Can I choose the therapist?
Once you have sent in your referral, our experienced team will match your child up with someone suitable, although this is also dependent on therapists’ availability. You and/or your child will have the opportunity to meet them during the first session, and if you are not happy with the match, please do talk to us about it.
Can I meet the therapist?
The first session is an assessment session. The therapist will meet with you and/or your child (dependent on age and understanding) and talk about what is going on for you, and how the sessions will work. If you wish to meet the therapist at other points, or you wish them to attend meetings, this will be agreed between you and charged at the usual session rates.
What if I am unhappy with the therapist?
Please contact us at info@nessieined.com. We will do our best to resolve any issues you might have.
How often will I get updates from the therapist about my child?
When you first meet, you will agree a number of sessions before a review, at which time you will discuss how sessions are going and whether they should continue. On a weekly basis, if there is any information to share, the therapist will do so via your parent portal.
What if I need to cancel a session?
Please let your therapist know as far in advance as possible. Sessions cancelled more than 24 hours in advance will not be charged. Unfortunately, we do have to charge for sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice.
What if I can’t afford to pay?
We do have a bursary fund for families in financial difficulty. Please email info@nessieined.com in confidence for more information.
