Date(s) - 06/07/2020
1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Positive Behaviour Support is an intervention that focuses on addressing young people’s needs, their home environment and overall quality of life.

The aim of this training is to explore and identify factors behind negative behaviour.

and to strengthen current strategies in managing behaviour positively.  Practical aspects will include planning effective responses and reactive strategies. It will include exploration and application of collaborative working, function assessment and behaviour support plans.

Positive Behaviour Support is an evidence-based approach with a primary goal of increasing a person’s quality of life; and a secondary goal of decreasing the frequency and severity of their challenging behaviours.  Positive Behaviour Support is about working with families and carers to develop a shared understanding about why the person has a need to engage in challenging behaviour.
