Emergency Help

NESSie is not a Crisis Service

If you’re a  parent of a child or a young person in a mental health crisis:

The NHS and our local hospitals are really busy at the moment, so if you’re experiencing a mental health crisis, the quickest way to get help at any time of the day or night is to call the Single Point Access (SPA) freephone number: 0800 6444 101, or call NHS 111 and select option 2 for mental health services.
In the case of serious illness or injury, dial 999 for emergency services. Once admitted, the local CAMHS crisis service will be contacted and come out and make an assessment and take things from there.

Email: hpft.spa@nhs.net for non-urgent enquiries

Other services that might be useful are:

  • Childline – if you’re under 19, you can call 0800 1111 to talk to the helpline between 7.30am and 3.30am every day. The number will not appear on your phone bill.
