CAMHS Practitioner CYP-IAPT Trainee (Autism Spectrum Conditions and Learning Disabilities)

Based in Hertfordshire, we are looking for a suitably qualified member of staff to join our dynamic service. Working in conjunction with local authority and statutory services the CYP-IAPT, CAMHS trainee posts are at the heart of NESSie’s mission in increasing access to mental health support for children, young people and their families.

The post-holder will work within NESSie providing interventions under supervision whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role.  This intensive training post will equip the post-holder to provide interventions for children, young people or families using the core principles of CYP-IAPT practice along with an evidence based intervention consistent with their training course.

 We are looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate the following experience and skills:
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Qualifications that demonstrate a capacity to complete academic work at postgraduate diploma level
• An understanding and appreciation of the unique challenges associated with ASC and/or LD for children, young people and their families.
• Two years’ experience of working within a professional setting concerned with the mental health of children and young people or families.
• Ability to be flexible and creative in facilitating engagement with children and young people with ASC and/or LD and their families.
• Ability to use supervision to reflect on practice.
• Ability to work positively as part of a small therapeutic team
• Ability to successfully network with a range of agencies
• Wide range of ICT packages to be used effectively
• Ability to be proactive and reliant on own initiative, show commitment and drive, able to set priorities
• Flexible problem solving approach

Admin Support Worker

Royston, Hertfordshire and remote from home (flexi-working)

Based at our HQ in Royston, with a combination of office and remote working, we have a temporary position available for an Admin Support Worker to work alongside our Children and Adolescent Mental Health Team. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will support NESSie’s mission to increase access to mental health support for children, young people and their families.

The role would be primarily to support the Operations Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the therapy service. The post holder will often be the first point of reference and as such, must display a considerable degree of initiative, possess mature judgement and maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with service users, professionals, colleagues and visitors. This role will also support our staff through the provision day to day duties such as room booking, organisational tasks and sending regular communications.

  • Responsibilities of the role include:
  • Answering telephone and email enquiries, responding directly to professionals and parents/carers
  • Communicating with and representing the therapy team
  • Uploading training and event information to our digital management system to ensure information is up to date and current
  • Support a migration of information from excel to our new digital management system, including the entry of highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Supporting the Operations Manager with marketing and advertising of our services
  • Supporting the Operations Manager with our online booking system
  • Supporting the Operations Manager with the coordination and planning of team meetings

You will need:

  • Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills

  • Excellent social media and canva skills
  • IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, web-based systems, Excellent people skills

  • Sound awareness of the BACP ethical framework
